Julian was exhausted. He’d just pulled a double shift, working in the infirmary and then working 12 hours to help Jadzia identify some new life form Sisko had discovered coming through the wormhole. Now more than 30 hours after having strode confidently from the quarters he now shared with Garak, he crawled pitifully back home.
He’d accidentally killed the creature from the wormhole. He didn’t know why, but that fact weighed heavily on his mind. He wasn’t even sure it was sentient, whatever it was. It could have been some sort of space seaweed. But it was dead now, and he was sure he’d killed it.
